    Re: 2036 MSL Chatter

Sunday 6/11/2036: Bill Capra turns in great performance against Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA - Bill Capra had some fun again. Philadelphia hitters did not. St. Louis' right-hander gave up just one hit in his 1st shutout of the season. He now has 13 career shutouts in 214 games started. With no outs in the 8th inning Cecil Sparks singled to break up the no-hitter. 'I had a good grip on the ball today and I was able to put it where I wanted. That kept them out of balance.' Capra (9-1) showed excellent control, walking nobody and fanning 7. St. Louis' shortstop Daniel Starrett collected 1 hit in 4 trips to the plate, hitting a homerun, and collecting 2 RBI. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Capra. The final score of the game was 2-0.

Tuesday 6/13/2036: It's NO-NO time for Britt Urbanek against New York (N)
NEW YORK (N) - Great things can happen when you throw strikes. And Britt Urbanek did so today, in a no-hit shutout against New York (N). Urbanek (9-1) struck out 7 and walked 4, throwing 67 of 116 pitches for strikes. 'Giving my team a chance to win is the most important thing for me. I was able to do it today, and it's especially nice to do it in such fashion.' St. Louis' third baseman Jacob Marinez finished with 1 hit in 4 AB. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Urbanek. St. Louis scored 5 runs on 7 hits.

Supposedly, My team can pitch. Urbanek is officially the wierdest pitcher I've ever owned in the history of my OOTP life. He followed this game up with a 10 BB, 2 H, 1 K in 5 IP performance and still ****ing won.

My team should be winning alot more games. I don't understand how out 1 run game and extra inning record is so bad with such a great staff and bullpen. It's not like my offense is that bad either. If my division was any better, I probably would be having some issues. Still, it's just same old same old when it comes to this team. Finding a new way to piss me off every damn season it seems.
Yeah I don't really exist anymore

Not to undermine what St. Louis is doing but in all fairness Pittsburgh did it with 6 other 90+ win teams in their league. The NL will be lucky to have 1 other 90 win team this year.

Outside of OOTP's randomness. The 6-3 record so far vs the Phillies says other wise.

St. Louis isnt the only one you should worry about :P.

LA Dodgers gladly welcome you out west vs another team that is 6-3 against the mighty Phillies.

A friendly message to the rest of the National League (including St. Louis who somehow Ive managed a 4-4 record against)...

    YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

And don't get me wrong the rise of the Dodgers has just begun and is no where near its omega.

In one offseason I have taken a team to have almost as many wins by the all star break as they had ALL of last year. from a 65 win season to 2nd best record in the National League.

    Batting AVG: .280 (8th)
    Homeruns: 88 (12th)
    Walks: 254 (21st)
    Stolen Bases: 41 (T-20th)
    Runs Scored: 446 (15th)

    Pitching ERA: 4.18 (7th)
    Opponents AVG: .268 (11th)
    HRs Allowed: 57 (2nd)
    Walks Allowed: 249 (8th)
    Runs Allowed: 404 (5th)

And the fun has just only begun this season. I may not win it this season just give me time.

    Re: 2036 MSL Chatter

The American League is god awful minus the Orioles and Rangers.

The attempt to switch the balance of power has been difficult with lack of trade partners and Orioles/Rangers being literally stacked.

The in-fighting in the AL Central can't go undervalued as this will be the toughest division in 3 seasons. Despite the chronic inconsistency of the Twins, they still have a stranglehold. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Perhaps the most overlooked thing, even by myself is this:

    American League Wildcard Race TeamWLPCTGBStreak
    Oakland4744.516-W1
    Tampa Bay4744.516 - L2
    Seattle4645.505 1.0 L1
    Cincinnati4546.495 2.0 L1
    New York (A)4447.484 3.0 L5
    Anaheim4150.451 6.0 W1
    Pittsburgh4150.451 6.0 W3
    Chicago (A)4051.440 7.0 W4

7 teams separated by 7 games.
