Mays vs Small.


Mays should have taken this pitching matchup but instead he gave up a three run shot to Sheffield in the first inning and the game was over before it began. In all, Mays would account for all 6 of the yankees scores in the Twins 6-3 loss. Twins lose the series in the Bronx and now head up the coast to Boston to meet the defending Champs for a weekend series.

Twins are still 11.5 behind the White Sox. The closer we get to August, the less likely it seems we may even be competing for a Wild Card slot. Currently the Twins are 1 game behind Oaktown for the WC slot (and a 1/2 game behind the Yanks). With 2 full months to go, my faith is waivering.

One pitch too long - that seems to be the Twins way lately. I thought things had changed when Gardy removed Rincon the other night before he did anymore damage. Mays had him 0-2 and threw one right in the wheelhouse - what was he thinking???!!!

I'm still going to be optimistic because anything can happen but you are right, the more we get deeper into August and things don't change for the Twins, they may be enjoying more time at home during the month of October than they have in the last few years. I hope that's not the case but we will see.

Someone needs to teach Mays to get the ball away. Seems like ecerytime he gets hit hard it is down the middle. My god Mays I could of hit that out. Seems to me there better be a huge move before the deadline to shake this team up. Overall they did not play that bad. A mistake by mays. Is all I remember. We need a pickme up asap. This lead needs to be under 10 games by months end for any chance.
