White Sox ChiSox at Target for 3

Twins have a 3 game lead, and have a pretty good home record this season. This will be a very important series for both teams.

John Danks v. Scott Baker tonight.
    Gavin Floyd v. Francisco tomorrow.
Mark Buehrle v. Carl Pavano on Thursday.
If the Twins can take 2 out of 3, it will increase their lead to 4 games. Much more pressure on the Sox in this one.

And after a blown save by Capps in the 9th, and Rauch giving up the lead in the 10th...Thome tells the ChiSox to suck it and gives the Twins their first walk-off hit in the new stadium with a 2 run homer to right to win it in the 10th.

I really liked the commentary in the 10th inning when Thome was at bat. Dick said "What the fans here want to see is Thome turn one of Thornton's fastballs around." Then, boom. I said "Like that."

Nice win for the Twins. Too bad Baker stunk in up once again. We need to look for some pitching for us to contend. 3 out of 5 sp's to me is not enough to win a pennant.

Liriano really didn't have his best day, but the Twins have come back to take the lead 7-5 in the bottom of the 6th. Hardy nearly hit a 3-run bomb, but did drive in a run with a sac fly.

Capps makes it interesting again, but holds out as Twins win again.

I don't care if Capps allows a run when the Twins are ahead by 2 or 3 runs. He is usually a very effective closer.

I care. He was brought in to be the shut down closer. Has there been a game where things were not interesting with Capps pitching?

Also if you dont care, why be a fan? We gave up our top hitting spec to land Capps.

Stop it. My point is that Capps is effective, not perfect. If Nathan comes back next season, Capps becomes a set-up guy that will get outs.
By the way, Pavano was not his usual effective self tonight, but Buehrle was. 11-0 Sox.

stop what? I am just posting facts is all.

Twins should have called up the AAA team tonight. What a terrible performance. Pitching in the series has been terrible. If the hitters did not get the job done in the first two games we would be tied again for first.
