Could the Twins Bring Cliff Lee In????????

According to a source, there is a possibility that the Twins could actually do this. Could be a very good pickup for the team. I cannot imagine a better starting group than Lee, Baker, Liriano, Blackburn, and Slowey/Pavano. The possibility exists that one of the starters (likely Slowey) could be included in the deal.

With the Mariners disappointing in a major way, I could see them being big sellers at the deadline this season. Lee and David Aardsma are 2 guys that could bring them some talent in return. I could see them making a deal for either of these guys with the Twins. Wilson Ramos is blocked at the major league level and the Mariners need a catcher, I would expect any deal for either of these guys to include him. Perhaps he would be enough by himself to net Aardsma, but Lee would bring the Mariners more than that. Maybe Slowey, Ramos and Revere?

The Twins ownership has a very high net worth. Higher than the Steinbrenners. They wouldn't have to rob any banks. They own several.
Bringing in someone like Cliff Lee would certainly help them get through the first round of the playoffs.
