Twins Liriano needs to be sent down to AAA.

Sure doe's not look like Liriano is ready to be pitching at the big league level. He is getting hit hard and walking to many batters. Today he made it .2 of an inning, with 6 runs against. Maybe he needs to learn how to throw the ball again. I am thinking a month down in AAA might do him well. Coming off the Tommy John surgery I think he still has to learn how to pitch again. I am glad he made it back but he has been terrible so far this season.

What should the Twins do with him? Better yet who will we call up to take his spot in the rotation?

I retract my statement about calling up Humber. I was checking his minor league stats....not so hot. One guy that looks like he's doing well in AAA is Kevin Mulvey. He's 2-1 in 4 games, 1.17 WHIP, 7 walks and 25 K's in 23.1 innings. ERA 1.16. His shortest outing so far is 5 innings, longest is 7.

What do you guys think? Give Mulvey a shot?

Yeah I would give him a shot. Liriano is just not ready to be pitching at the major league level. He needs time to get back to his old self or close to it. Liriano will be our team ace soon enough, I just think he needs time to pitch at AAA where all eyes won't be on him at every pitch he makes.

    Alright.

Bill Smith, you heard it from the experts. Send Liriano down, bring up Mulvey.

    Ready, go.

Unfortunately, the management is not likely to read this advice. I agree that Liriano has some issues that need to be handled under less pressure than he would get at the big league level. As to prospective replacements, how about Glen Perkins? It would give the Twins a lefty in the rotation as opposed to having all righties.

Twins send down Liriano for a closer from AAA ball.

Wow, Korecky posted very good numbers in AAA, that's definitely the way to get called up

Yeah, his numbers show that he was solid. I'm just questioning the choice because who are they going to use to fill Liriano's spot in the rotation? Would they use Korecky?

In 2007, he recorded 35 saves, setting a Rochester record and finished second among all minor leaguers in saves.
wow, good for this guy, it's about time he got called up

I'm happy to see Korecky get a chance to show what he can do at the big-league level. He definitely deserves a shot. Maybe they are dangling him as trade bait?
