    Twins vs A's (9/11 - 9/13)

Twins finally got a good outting from Silva last night in game 1 of the series. Silva, who has really really stunk for the better part of the past month. Carlos gave up only 1 run (HR) and 5 hits in 7 innings of work.

A few more outtings like that and we could really roll into the playoffs. We really need as much good stuff from Silva as possible, especially with Radke turning up lame down the stretch.

The Twins bats were alive and well as they picked up 14 hits (including 2 HR'ers). Twins win a very important game 9-4, and gained a half game on Detroit who is now only a game and half ahead in the ALC.

Tonight on the mound: Matt Guerrier vs Kirk Saarloos. Matt is replacing Scott Baker who has been just terrible on the mound this year. He's also making his first start in over 2 years. *cringe*

    Good luck Twins.

Twins hitting is back on track.

Morneau is playing like a MVP. What he did tonight was awesome.

Let's hope Frankie pitch well this afternoon for the Twins.

Twins had a fantastic rally in the 8th inning, being down 3-5. Scoring 4 runs and taking back the win was outstanding. Morneau is definitely hitting like an MVP this season. He started off really slow this year, but since the middle of June, he's been rock solid. Mauer was on fire for about 2 months and cooled off considerably but is still a hell of a player and very smart at the plate as he's got a great eye for strikes and balls.

Detroit barely beat Texas yesterday so the Twins are still 1.5 games back, but Chicago blew it at the end of their game and are now 2.5 games behind the Twins. Twins won 7-5.

I hope Frankie Liriano is ready pitch today. I don't expect him to throw more than 5 innings, but that may be enough. From what I understood, Garza may be doing bullpen work behind Liriano today.

This was a huge win. Liriano said he was 100% healthy, he is needed for us to win this thing. Radke was supposed to throw or play catch in last night game has anyone heard anything on this?

Game is on ESPN today. Going home early to watch the game!

So much for Liriano. Looks like he re-injured himself.

we didn't lose any ground and you didn't gain any ground, so it doesn't matter we went .500 on the 6 game road trip and lowered our magic number.

    Twins will make the playoffs.

    A's will make the playoffs.

    Let's be happy.

I wasn't upset about the loss. Today was a day of mourning for Frankie. You hope he can recover and pitch well.
