    Twins Francisco Liriano

    Hello Twins fans,

I am anxious to see this guy play this year, I have heard some wonderful things about this kat, like he is further along at his age than Santana was. Fastball near 100 mph, changeup low 80's, and so young. What are your impressions of him in his career so far.

That kid is the real deal. Has all the makings to be a very dominant SP in the bigs, all he needs is time to mature. I honestly believe this kid will only get better with experience, definately someone to keep an eye on.
"They asked me if I wanted the ball in Game 6, and I said yes. I'll always say yes. That's what I did with Jack McKeon. I told him, 'Let me see how I feel tomorrow.' I went out, did a long toss, came in and said, 'I'll pitch, I want it, I want to do it.' And it ended up working out." -Josh Beckett

Pedro needs to start. He is dominatiing as and sp out there. Gardy placed him in the pen because of all the relievers we had in spring training that sucked.

I believe if Lohse or Baker struggles contine Liriano will start. What a 1 2 punch Santana and Liriano.

Liriano is a future cy young award winner!!!

That's what I'm guessing. There's a reason why Gardenhire let Liriano pitch 3 innings and almost 50 pitches yesterday. Clearly, the Twins are stretching out Liriano's arm for a move to the rotation, and if they're doing that now, it logically means that he'll be ready to start next week.

Lohse goes today and if he sucks again, Liriano will almost surely take his place next time (Tuesday)

Carlos Silva's struggles have landed him in the Twins bullpen. A night after giving up eight runs – six earned – in 3 1/3 innings against the White Sox, manager Ron Gardenhire told the Associated Press that Francisco Liriano would be elevated to the starting rotation, while Silva would be put in the bullpen in attempt to get him on the right track.

The Liriano era begins on Friday in Milwaukee.

I'll be at Miller Park for all three games so I'll report in when I return.
