Jon Heyman says the same thing on his twitter:

efforts for randy wolf appear fruitless. looks like it's brewers for 3 yrs, about $9 mil per.
Depending on the money, this should be a big lift for the crew. They still need pitching and Wolf has put together some nice seasons. Nice!

Rumor has it that the brewers are also looking at Mulder.

Perhaps mofo could provide more insight into Wolf, but does anyone know if it was just a good year for him last year or did he change anything in his mechanics or pitch usage that caused his BAA to DROP. At a .227 BAA, it was his best posted since 2002. If that is an indicator of future success, he is real deal (again.)

What did Wolf sign for last year? Haven't the Brewers learned anything about signing pitchers? Paying back of the rotation types will kill you long term, they pay too many bad players too much.

AP Source: LHP Wolf, Brewers agree to 3-year deal (AP)

Randy Wolf and the Milwaukee Brewers reached a preliminary agreement on a three-year contract worth $29.75 million, a person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press. The deal, which includes a $10 million option for 2013, is subject to completion of final details, the person said Wednesday, speaking on condition of anonymity because no announcement had been made.

Like I said, if he truly has found the right pitch selection again and can post BAA's or .230 or .240, this won't be a bad contract at all for a FA signing.

Brewers finalize Wolf, agree with Counsell (AP)

Randy Wolf understood when Houston pulled a $27 million, three-year offer before last season because of the faltering economy. In the meantime, he made his first postseason appearance and parlayed it into an even bigger contract from the Brewers. "If I were there, I wouldn't have the opportunity to sign here," Wolf said of his rocky offseason last year.
