Thread: Which hitters do you think should get into the HOF from "The Steroid Era"

  1. #16
The only one I would vote for is Griffey Jr. Jeter, Arod and Pujols aren't worthy yet, although Arod is pretty close. I fully expect Arod and Pujols to be more than worthy when their careers are through. Jeter? He shouldn't even be considered, he's a post season star, his regular season stats are average, maybe slightly above at best. Larkin, he's not HOF material, good player though. As for the remaining dopers, hit the road, I will be glad when they are gone, so that we can talk about real baseball, not drug using slobs.

I said Arod was close and will be by the time he's through. As for Jeter, what stat does he have that you think makes him so "Hall Worthy"? He doesn't have 3000 hits, although he might before his career is over. He doesn't have 500 HR and won't even be close. He won't even get 400. I won't even get into the discussion about how inflated his numbers are from being in a lineup with 6 and 7 All Stars for most of his career. As much as you NY fans hate to admit it, he's just a little more deserving than Phil Rizzuto, another "great Yankee shortstop", THAT DOESN'T BELONG.

Grumpy, Sosa, McGwire, Bonds, A-Rod, Pujols and Piazza are all HOFers.

All of those are great players but since I could only choose one I sucked it in and choose Griffey.

Actually, it's a multiple-choice poll. You can choose as many as you want. Welcome to the forums.

As noted previously, there's two if you count Arod. So what do you think makes Jeter so much more deserving just because he's a shortstop? So you are saying if he was a 1B you wouldn't even consider him? This is another thing that irritates me about people wanting to put guys in the Hall, making a big deal out of what postion they play. As far as I'm concerned, catchers are the only position that should get any extra consideration based on position. Here's the perfect example, Ozzie Smith, the greatest defensive shortstop in the history of the game... HE IN NOW WAY SHAPE OR FORM BELONGS IN THE HALL!!!!!

Put down your pipe, man. If Ozzie doesn't belong in the Hall, no one does.

The only two on the poll I don't see in the Hall are Rafael Palmeiro & Mike Piazza. Both very good players but not Hall material.

Are you serious?? They let Gary freaking Carter in the HOF. And Piazza is a hundred gajillion times the player that Carter was.

How did that ever happen? Brilliant.
