Jim Rome brought up a good point on his radio show the other day.

He said if it isnt true, i would sue everyone that had to do with that book. All Barry said was no comment. If that was a book that was going to ruin my life, and defamed my character. I'd be like see you all in court.

Not so true. I forgot who it was but they explained all the nice loop holes in journalism of this sort. Let's say a celebrity like Tony Danza goes to a bar called Area 51. Then some lady named Kelly goes to the same bar frequently. She can say that Danza goes to the bar with underage girls and ****s them to death at that bar and its perfectly legal for the reporter to report that. Now in the Bonds scenario, they have his ex-mistress saying all these things. Nothing anyone can do. This is a book based on actual sources but as to how true they are, who knows?

First of all I feel Bonds has used Steroids and is not the most
wonderful person to deal with, but to me he is taking a lot of heat for
the wrong thing. Baseball did not look at the Steroid issue until 2002
the year after Bonds hit 73 home runs. They (Major League Baseball) did
not have a steroid policy in effect until 2004. Now that being said how
can anyone say Bonds cheated when there was no ban on steroid use. Most
people in any field will do what is necessary to be competitive. If a
person came to me and said you can play five years longer and set
records during this time by taking this non banned substance, I would
say give it to me now. And so would most people. Last point does it not
seem strange the timing of this books release? The author says it’s to
inform the public. I say it is about the Money they hope to make at
Bonds expense.

Yes I am a Giant fan but Facts are Facts! When laws are made you don't go back and hang people for what they did before it was a law. The players in the 50's & 60's used speed. Do we call for there heads on a platter? Just put yourself in there place and be fair!
