Carlos Beltran sure does make a lot of money. I figured Beltre's stats would look the worst next to his salary, but Carlos' salary made me feel a little better.

To me, only two guys earned their paychecks off that list. Maybe three, I guess it depends on how much one values Delgado's numbers. But three is quite sad.

while this is true, i realize that as long as my team isn't the Yankees the more bad contracts on the book the less room there is for good contracts. Therefore whenever a bad contract comes about, such as Phil Nevin or Ryan Klesko for instance, it makes me sick.

Where do you guys think this puts baseball's future? Pretty soon 70% of all baseball players will be making money in the 5 million dollar per year range.

Pedro and Lowe's contract really don't bother me.

Both put up some decent numbers.

Seriously, it'll be only a matter of time until MLB will be forced to create a salary cap. Hopefully we can avoid recreating what happened in the NHL.

Let's see, Derek Lowe... sinkerballer, playing at a pitcher's park...
28 homeruns given up. Almost doubling his past season high.

Yeah, I bet you'd give him that kinda cash.

Yah I would, because he may have increased him giving up HRs. But something you don't recognize is that he also lowered his walks, lowered ERA, and increased his strikeouts.

Increasing his HRs by 13 in a year in exchanged for less walks and more strikeouts all equals out in my mind. Lowe is worth the money.

With GMs paychecks, I'd be just fine with that.

Free agency overpays players. Draft rights and arbitration underpays them.

Fact of life. Deal with it.
