LJ, do you think they will ever let Piazza in the hall with the PED cloud? Regardless, that he has never tested positive, been linked to an investigation or report and that the few things he admitted to in his book were at the time not banned or considered illegal and claims to have stopped cold as soon as they were listed???? I like Mike, met him several times, always gracious.

When I first saw the vote I figured for me it would be easy, not much history and in those early years no one was really here long enough to be "franchise",but, a good case could be made for Kaz, Pena, Price and even Upton, though I had a love/hate relationship with him. I can't imagine how hard it is for teams with so much history to nail down just four.

I think he'll get in eventually. His vote numbers have been trending upwards, and as you said, there's no evidence that he ever did anything wrong. In fact, the only person who seems to really keep tooting the "he did steroids" trumpet is this ex-NY Times reporter Murray Chass who bases his whole argument on seeing Piazza with bacne in 2005 or something.

For me, being a 20-something Mets fan, it'd be a joke to imagine a hall with Piazza. I've lightened my stance on the Bonds/Clemens' of the world too, but for a guy who has provided no real reason to believe he cheated to be kept out on speculation is a bad precedent to set.

Not sure what all this noise is, but I would replace Gonzalez with Ken Caminti.

So everybody can tweet about it
And then they start to R.I.P. about it
And four weeks later nobody even speaks about it.

Caminiti wasn't an option for some dumb reason.

And I missed the write-in section.

Maybe we should take this to the Padres forum, who do you got for your all-time lineup?
