Sad day in baseball as Thomson passes away but I smile because I think he died knowing he has the greatest homerun in baseball history under his belt. It was such a monumental homerun in the biggest rivalry in baseball that it even has its own name "The shot heard round the world". How ****ing cool is that?! Not only was it the biggest homerun but it also brought one of the greatest calls in all of baseball, "The Giants win the pennant!" over and over. Bobby Thomson might have died but that moment will live on forever.

I always enjoyed listening to him talk about the game. His career and life was more than just that one moment. He was one of the genuine good guys in the world.
Rest in peace, Bobby.
