Lou Piniella will retire
Wonder if he will throw one big tirade at the end just for old times sake.

Frankly, its about time. Lou doesn't seem to have the fire he once did. Look for Ryne Sandberg to replace him on the bench.

Let it be clear: He wasn't "fired." He "retired." Sure.
Lou looks exactly the same as he did in his final months with the Rays. No spark, not really caring, just going through the day to day. Chicago has beaten down Lou. And personally, I don't expect this retirement to last, I bet he is lured back to coach in a for the 2012 season once he recharges again.

Sounds about right. In the proper setting, he could bring home a winner.

I don't know. If he gets a cushy job with Fox, MLB Network, or ESPN, I think Mt. Piniella becomes extinct. I think if the Reds come a calling, he might entertain the possibility. He and Bob Castellini are tight.
