Padre pitchers got snubbed, but you can't even knock the selections of Arthur Rhodes and Evan Meek. It's been that kind of year for pitchers.

It is an absolute joke that Joey Votto is having to rely on the "last man in" clause to get on the team. If he is not on it I will not watch that joke of a game. He was arguably the MVP for the entire league and may get left off for one of the bigger overrated first basemen in baseball because of who the manager is. Adam Dunn deserved to be an all star more than Howard let alone Votto.

I think the voters got it right, for the most part. Its hard to pick at least one player from every team, so there are snubs every year.

Is there a category besides that in terms of offensive numbers? This wouldnt just be a snub it would be freaking grand theft. Votto has been on everyone's list as "first half MVP" but yet he isnt a guarenteed a spot on the all star game?

There were two, maybe three pitchers in my mind before I bothered to google their stats. That doesn't mean I think having the #1 ranked pitching staff means anything in regards to selecting all stars out of the staff, if there are any.
