Yes, I do have to chime in.

Steroids or any performance enhancer would shock me for Zito. Pot or any silly drug like that would not surprise me, however.

This is the commissioners office we are dealing with. Bud has surrounded himself with many a bright mind.

What, you don't think "Bud" knows what he's doing?

    Suspension is indeed a joke.

No, it makes sense because his failed test wasn't for steroids, but for a fertility drug to get his nuts to start pumping natural testosterone again because presumably he was coming off a steroid cycle.

Wasn't this the same excuse that Manny Ramirez's used?!?!?!?

    When will these morons learn.

Well well well. I am pretty upset about this whole thing. The bottom line for me is that Volquez should have been wise enough to seek further approval for any medications he would be taking. I am sure that every team in baseball has a rep that could either clear or dissaprove any medication. If not, that standard has to be made so these "mistakes" don't happen again.

If he was honestly trying to use a drug that helps him make babies, he still failed to get the medication checked out from any source that could cross check it with the MLB regulations.

I am a bit surprised that the suspension started today though. But double jeopardy helped the Reds in a big way. I am willing to bet that they change this in some way. But Volquez is obviously still receiving punitive action with losing out on over 100K.

But my question is, when will these guys learn to check with MLB prior to taking any prescribed medications?
