Completely opposite of Jose Offerman, Tejada is classy. MLB is now responding, along with stars from the NBA and NFL to help as much as they can. Tejada is obviously not a Haitian, but it doesn't matter.
SANTO DOMINGO -- Free-agent shortstop Miguel Tejada has traveled to Haiti to help the victims of last week's devastating earthquake.
Tejada arranged for a van full of food, water and medicine to be brought to Port au Prince on Sunday, and the Dominican Republic native took a helicopter to the Haitian capital.
The six-time All-Star tells The Associated Press in a telephone interview that what happened in Haiti is unbelievable and he will do anything he can to help.
An estimated 100,000 or more people may have died in Tuesday's magnitude-7.0 quake.
