vlad was safe for the record... but as for us getting every close call... lets remind ourselves of arod never being tagged at the plate yesterday. turned out to not matter... but yea, not every call has gone our way.

I am getting the eerie feeling that this could be the Yankees year. If you are a Yankee hater, hope that the S3F and now B/S jinx lives. It's still early though.

That wasn't a close call. The ball beat him and umps almost always call the guy out if the ball beats him (out or not). The ump wasn't even in position to see if he got tagged or not as he was behind the catcher.

agreed the ump was in horrendous position. still... a close call to me... is a call that can go either way. the ball beat him, so the case for calling him out is valid... and the fact that he was actually safe, is a valid case for calling him safe.

But because he couldn't see the tag, he called him out due to the ball beating him. At least it wasn't a game changer. Oh, and I give him a lean toward out for running through the stop sign

I didn't even realize that Figgins drew 100 walks. I thought "base on balls" aren't in speedy black players' vocabulary.

yea, agreed. i wish fox wouldve shown thompson throwing up the stop sign though... i read today that initially he was waving him in, then threw up the stop sign. but of course, mccarver and buck made no mention of that, and instead just harped on that he ran through a stop sign, and fox never showed a quality replay.
