Ryan Howard got under one but the breeze carried it out for his 7th homer of the night.

What a classy interview by Roy Halladay. A great answer to the trade question.

Yep. Halladay handled that beautifully and it didn't come off as phony either.

C'mon Mauer, hit a couple more.

Mauer hits 5. Longest hit was 458'. Pretty impressive for a guy who doesn't hit too many home runs.

Mauer is a great natural, all around hitter, just not quite the total power hitter for the derby. He and Pena are at five and they are tied for 4th. Now Prince Albert has his turn...

How many will Albert hit in round 1? I am guessing he'll strategically hit 14 and save some for the next two rounds.

Definitely. Mauer had a few really nice ones and had a respectable outing, especially compared to some others tonight.

Pujols is swinging late and coming up short on several of his swings. Only one so far for Pujols.

Pujols crushes one for his second of the night. He needs four more to advance, three to tie.

A batoff between Pujols, Pena and Mauer now to determine the 4th player to advance to round 2.

Mauer stayed with his usual swing. I don't think he'll have a problem losing his swing the way some people have following this event.
