    Re: S3F Weekly Roundup

A couple teams have the talent to trade for him, prospect wise, anyway, the question is more of will they give up 2-3 top prospects for him?

I doubt that will happen. Unless the Rays or Fish decide to break their ways.

    And(my last comment before bed)...

The question was posed...why was CC so cheap? Peavy is signed long term, rather reasonably, at least for the next few years. CC was pretty much set on testing free agency and getting the big pay day. Cleveland knew they weren't going to get a better talent than LaPorta, so they pulled the trigger.

Peavy doesn't want to be there, help him out, get him out of there to somewhere he can win...same goes to TOR about Halladay, they deserve a chance at a ring, they don't complain so they don't get forced out, and in doing so they allow the team to get a max return, but the teams owe it to these guys to get them to winners

Halladay is not leaving Toronto. Peavy will cost a lot if hes dealt.

if Halladay doesn't leave Toronto, I will totally understand why athletes complain their way out, its cause if they try to be nice about it the team just screws them over

How are they screwing him over?
They are giving a guy a chance to play big league baseball, and I can assure you that there are thousands of guys that wish they had that chance. Winning isn't everything in sports you know.

About Peavy. Is there a team that has the talent to trade for him.
The Cubs have the talent to get him and could have had him if they wanted to give up the prospects but they declined. These two teams (Cubs and Padres) know each others farm systems inside and out and a deal can be made. Harden is not going to last the whole season and I think we know that and the Cubs definitely know it. Once he goes down, the Cubs will be desperate for Peavy and be willing to give up more. This is the team willing to do anything to break the 101 year curse. Why else do you think they gave Milton Bradley that horrendous contract?

Another team that has been mentioned recently is the Brewers who have a lot of talent they could give but their problem is most of the talent are position players.

The thing you have to realize is that ticket sales are down in SD and they can't afford him over the length of his contract. He will be dealt.

    Screwing him over?

He signed the contract. He decided he wanted to play there, let's make them pay the consequences for their actions for once.

Let's not turn this until the NFL where you can just whine until your labelled a "cancer" and then get your way.

Then when your franchise player asks you behind closed doors to be dealt to a contender you should honor the request, doc is up for FA after 10' so he'll pitch for a winner soon enough
