JJ Putz will be the reason the USA goes home. Even if he survives this game he'll blow one in the future...he isn't even the closer on his own MLB team...
The Bell Centre is in Montreal.

Aw ****. Jason Bay had tons of hittable pitches in that at-bat. Oh well. Still a great game.

3-2 Netherlands after 6 innings. This Cordemans guy for the Dutch is impressive.
How many players of the Netherlands team are actually ethnic Dutch? Most of those guys are probably from Caribbean islands like Aruba and Caracao.

I didn't realize those were big MLB prospect grounds and when u are born in Aruba u get a Dutch passport making u Dutch, although a good portion of the roster is from the homeland

    Re: World Baseball Classic 2009

I just got back from Toronto lat last night. I went to the USA-Canada and Venezuela-Italy games. I have to say that I was really impressed with the Canadian fans. They were really loud and quite hostile (more so than Red Sox fans at Fenway). The Rogers Centre itself was also pretty cool.

I also ran into one of the Chicago White Sox owners in the hotel.

I will post some pictures i took eventually.

Additionally, why do the Canadians hate Jeter so much? That is one thing I didn't get.

I have no idea who all those people were. They definitely weren't the same crowd that goes to Blue Jays games, those guys are quiet as a mouse.

Before the USA-Canada game I was walking around the stadium with my Jeter Yankees jersey on and got some serious heckling (AROID and Jeter sucks Arod chants). Was definitely impressed.

Did you go to tonight's Canada-Italy game? Because the crowd was deader than dead.

    Re: World Baseball Classic 2009

I think the reason is because there is a large majority of Canadians that will show up to anything Canada-vs-USA, and hate on the American team. There is a lot of American hatin', Tim Horton's drinkin', hockey playin' Canadians.
