Roy Oswalt will pitch for the United States during the World Baseball Classic in March.
"If I only play three more years, this would be a good opportunity," Oswalt said Monday. "I thought it’d be a great time to do it and try to win a gold medal." He won a gold with Team USA at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and called it "one of the most special times" he has ever had in baseball.
Big time pickup for the Americans!

Scott Kazmir was named to the team today. Hopefully, Joe Maddon won;t let him do it. His arm is a big question for the '09 season.

USA only needs Chipper. They don't need Wright.

    An update on Canada...

Dempster, Harden questionable as Canada roster takes shape

May be a long tournament for the pitching staff. Not looking good there, but the lineup is all set, with some great positional players.

I don't want Wright to play much, but do you really believe that USA only needs an aging, streaky player with nagging injuries that pop up at least once a year?

I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Venezuela looks like a real solid team. Look at the pitching!
