Contract The End of the Big Contracts?

With some of the biggest names still out there -- Dunn, Manny, Hudson, Abreu -- will they get the long-term security they want? The initial deals offered to them by their old clubs are looking a bit more attractive every day.

I've heard rumors that Dunn may even have to settle for a 1 year, 5-7 million dollar deal, which would be insane. I think that nearly every contending team should be talking to all these guys, just to try to fill their holes.

I hope the Red Sox consider Abreu over JD "I'm always hurt" Drew

The problem is the guys left on the free agent market are not long term guys. Dunn can't play any defense and is all power, same for Manny who is older, Abreu is old, Hudson has injury issues and Pudge is old too. None of these guy spell long term in this market or any other market.

The rest of the free agents are all just waiting for Scott Boras vs. Ned Colletti soap opera to reach an end.
