Baseball Slant Which Former Player Do You Want?

Alright guys, which former player for your favorite team would you like to see come back and help coach and why? Player has to be living.

For me, it would be Will Clark. Will was a damn good hitter and prided himself on good defense. I found Will to be a smart guy and a never got too emotional so I know he can keep a level head. Don't get me wrong, when Will did lose his cool, it was awesome. So I think I am going to have to go with the .303 lifetime hitter who played good defense and hope the young Giants will soak up everything he knows.

Bring back Jay Buhner and Edgar Martinez.

Junior is still play so he would be out.

Yogi Berra just cuz it would take him an hour to walk to and from the mound to make a pitching change, and the postgame press conferences would be epic.

Ok, to be serious, probably Tino Martinez or Scott Brosius. They'd be great managers

If they're still playing, does it count? I want Greg Maddux back, to be a pitching coach. That seems to be an easy call.

Bob Gibson as pitching coach, but I'd feel sorry for anyone that didn't listen to him. He'll keep those pitchers in line.

Mike Piazza and Tom Seaver. Piazza would anchor the lineup, and Seaver/Santana would be one of the greatest 1/2 duos EVER, if not the greatest.

Rod Carew, Tony Oliva, or Harmon Killebrew.

I'm sure even in his old age, Piazza would be a boost for the team but this is as coaches..

We got Cito back, that's good enough right?

As for players, lets go with Devon White, a true character in the field, and on the mic.

Part of me wants to say McGwire and Canseco, but I'd rather not go with them for obvious reasons. I'd love to have a guy like Catfish Hunter back, with his fire and everything. Henderson too, and maybe Campy or Bando. Heck I wouldn't mind Reggie back either. Keep everyone in the clubhouse on their toes.

As a coach, what positives do Canseco bring other than test results?

I would like to see Chipper come back as a hitting coach but he should still be playing for a few more years. Smoltz, Glavine & Maddox could make great pitching coaches.
