One of the dumbest things in baseball

Having a player's statistics reset in-season as they go from league to league. I hate looking up at the box score and seeing that Mark Teixeira is hitting .000. MLB is the only sport that does this and I really don't understand the logic behind it.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Well, he's changing leagues. I mean, the stats don't mean the same thing. Idk. It's annoying, but you grow to expect it.

Batting average is hits/at bats regardless of what league you're in.

I think this is a pretty ridiculous concept, especially now with interleague play.

But players may be expected to do more or less with the new team, so by being dealt, it's like you get a clean slate.

That concept is the same for any player traded mid-season in any sport.

Agreed. I'm not saying I like the idea, but I can understand it.

Couldn't agree more about it. It's not like he changed sports.

You changed teams, that's enough of a clean slate Nancy.

They're gravitating towards instant replay, maybe they'll gravitate towards updating a few rules. (In the year 2525)

Like I said, I don'y LIKE the wiping of the stats clean....however, it makes SOME sense. I wish they'd stop doing it, but as long as it's done for everyone, it shouldn't be too big a deal.
