Gotta give it up to both guys. Morneau hung in there. But Hamilton put on the show, which is what the HRD is all about

Congrats to the 2008 Homerun Derby Champ Justin Morneau. He might not had the night Hamilton did, but he did leave the winner.

As for Hamilton, Reds fans knew he was the real deal last year, especially to anyone who showed up early to watch batting practice. Good job by both.

Tough loss. That is how it has been for me lately. I took the Cardinal loss from the Pirates badly the other day when they were up by 4 runs in the 9th only to have the Bucs tie it up. Then in the 10th Glaus homered, only to take the loss on a 2 run homer by the Bucs. Sick! Almost lost the Ranger game the other night as well as they were leading by like 5 in the ninth and the White Sox came back bigtime but still the Rangers ended up winning by one.

When I bet, you can expect drama. Tough loss for me, but even tougher for Hamilton. What a show he put on tonight! That is more improtant. He was insane. I really almost teared up. I still have chills.

nope I didn't get to watch it live, my tv station put the HR derby on 1 hour tape delay because I live the west region of Canada (they had the east region on live tv), it started 7pm (mountain) here.

    Re: Homerun Derby thread

I thought the Derby was amazing and I only watched Hamilton hit. The other guys did not interest me much since they didn;t claim to be able to hit one out of Yankee Stadium. The best part for me was the way both teasm came to home plate to congratulate Hamilton on his amazing performance. Must admit it brought a tear of joy to the eye. Amazing story and he would have hit one out of the stadium if he hit one of those upper deckers just ten feet to the left.
