They are big league players, they can hit homeruns, sure it will be fun. But some guys who could hit it 500+ feet would make it a lot more fun.

Ryan Howard = 3 home runs last year. big HR hitters don't equal big HR totals in the derby. Just to show you: Uggla has 4 homers in 7 swings so far

I wish the NBA would follow suit. Maybe we'll see Lebron in the 3pt shooting contest next season.

The ASG is for the All-Stars, the Homerun Derby is NOT the ASG. It is pure fun, with no bearing on anything, and it is designed to see big bombs and that's it.

Lets give Uggla a few chances then and see if he could hit 23.

Again, Uggla isn't exactly Juan Pierre. He is a power hitter for his position and all these guys can hit them big time.

I'd like to see Hamilton vs Utley. That could be quite the show.

    Utley was underwhelming.

I want to see Sabathia and Owings in a derby.

Odds are, you're not going to get any great barrage of homeruns, and the 5-10 range is more likely. So hats off the Uggla, he at least has hit more than Utley.

He'd hurt himself when he misses a homerun and breaks the bat over his head.
