    Article Tim Kurkjian's Allstars

ESPN - Identifying deserving All-Stars a tall task - MLB

Love the AL outfield of Bradley, Hamilton and Quentin.
And the NL infield is freakin' crazy. Cliff Lee might consider skipping this game.

I don't know why he gave D Wright the reserve spot, he's only been good...not all star worthy. But Jose Reyes shoulda been the reserve over Guzman, he's better in OBP, SLG, SB, HR, RBI, R. Guzman only has 20 points in average...

Guzman will get in as the lone nationals rep, that's working against Reyes unless I'm missing someone doing well? Guzman has had a pretty nice season considering who he is and who he's on.

    Give the Nationals Jon Rauch.

PS: I hate that shitty ass representation rule. If it's gonna be an all star game, and it's gonna matter, why the **** should the shitty teams have to get one of their shitty players in? I can understand the home team being required to have a rep, but not everyone. it's a dumb rule, if you ask me, esp since no one cares about the game anyway.

Starting pitchers: Cliff Lee, Indians, Roy Halladay and Shaun Marcum, Blue Jays, Joe Saunders and Ervin Santana, Angels, Justin Duchscherer, A's, Scott Kazmir, Rays and Daisuke Matsuzaka, Red Sox.
I'm...I'm speechless at this. I'm not questioning his reasoning at all but...at the beginning of the season, if you told me these guys would be most deserving of the All-Star SP spots......I would laugh in your face and tell you to stop randomly picking names and actually learn something about baseball. This, my friends, is the beauty of baseball. Anyone can do well at any given time. I love it.

But where the **** is Mike Mussina?

His #'s are pretty damned good to be left off that list.

Well, an allstar thread just isn't complete without more yankees.

Reyes numbers are not overwhelmingly better than Guzman (and I don't care if Reyes has five million steals, it's the allstar game and not a track&field competition). Guzman isn't having a shitty year. .309 from a guy who hasn't been good since he was with the twins? If he's in over Reyes, it's far from a tragedy unless you live in New York.

As for shitty teams, the mets are only 4 up on the nationals.
