Are you in the Major Leagues? It's different. And do you synchronize it with 15 players and a coach chanting at the same time?

Didn't baseball becomes a private school when you enter the "Majors."

Umm...you're gonna have to explain that, because I have no idea what that question means

I'm saying just because there in the "Majors" that doesn't mean they have to act like private school students when they play baseball.

I'm not saying they have to keep completely silent, but when you choreograph and synchronize cheers, it is a bit immature and disrespectful (in my opinion)

I think it is a good motivation tool for the team. I know when I played softball it got all of us pumped. The Ntaionals need anything to get them going.

Peavy doesn't do it like Joba did. If Peavy went as far as Joba did in a ballgame in early May after striking out a mediocre hitter, yes I would have a problem with it.

15 year old softball is different than professional hitters. I think its kinda bush myself. They are paid professionals. they should act like it.

that said, I dont think it should be all THAT much of a big deal.

See, like I said, I don't think it's something that should be punished, I just think its unprofessional, and disrespectful towards the other team

Probably nothing, because he knows he can get away with it.

I think your making a big deal out of this. There in the dugout just chanting/cheering/encouraging there players to make a play, get a hit and what not, if the Mets announcers gota problem with it, then they probably never played baseball before.
    Kieth Hernandez don't play that.

I don't know what the hell you're talking about, but he and Ron Darling were two of the most popular and influential baseball players in NY in the 1980's. I think that this is something that will result in the Nationals starting plenty of fights, because this kind of act is JUST as disrespectful if done improperly. And when 15 players, and a coach simultaneously chant stupid shit, it becomes inappropriate....at least if you ask me.
    Keith Hernandez?!

    I hate Keith Hernandez!!

Do you know which game it was in?

I may want to go watch it via MLB.TV to see the difference.

It's different because there are different standards. When one plays in an extracurricular league, it is not their profession, and they are only expected to act in a considerate manner. In the Major Leagues you are expected to act respectfully and PROFESSIONALLY. You may disrespect random people on the streets. However, just like you wouldn't disrespect your coworker, you don't disrespect opponents.

    Re: Washington Nationals: Bush League?

    But how is it disrespectful?

They're not showboating or anything, they're cheering the team on.

But I'll go and actually watch it soon to see how far they really went, but based off the description I'm willing to bet that I'm going to think it's rather silly but not "bush league" or "disrespectful".
