TIE GAME!
Good job by Roger. Roger made a very productive out.

Choi is a big guy and his defense has holes. I wouldnt be surprised to see him end up a DH soon.
But Penny gets out of it. With Rolen in the lineup, could of been a different story.

I think LaRussa is a good manager, but I think he overmanages at times, which sometimes causes some choking in playoffs situations. (1990 vs. the Reds when the A's were HUGE favorites comes to mind)

Hard to believe this is the last year of Busch Stadium as the Cards are ready to go to a new downtown stadium. Busch Stadium and Kaufman Stadium are two of the best oldest parks in baseball.
Just got home.
Satellite will probably go out though, I'll keep an eye on this though.
True, but you gotta give the Reds credit that year. They had some very good pitching. I love watching Tom Browning pitch. That guy was a big-game pitcher. Him and Rijo were something to watch then. The Nasty Boys were something else. The game was over in the seventh inning when Norm was on the mound. Reds had some hitters out there. That was some team to watch.
I've never been to Busch Stadium and from my father's point of view, he visited Busch last year and he said its a fantastic stadium that shouldn't be demolished.
I go to Kauffman stadium at least once a year and everytime I go, they win.
Without Rolen and Renteria on the left side of the infield, the Cardinal defense is quite a bit weaker.

I know I'm one of the only one's on this forum who thinks they have some future hope, but it sure seems that way to me. I wish the Reds showed as much hope.(Even for this year, as we are now 3 games behind your team. Even you much maligned offense is quickly getting better)

For all of the abuse Walt takes for signing Eckstein... he came into today with a .378 OBP...above career norms. Looks like yet again Jocketty was able to see future improvement in a player before everyone else. (At least so far)

Phillips is having quite a nice season. How can you not like a guy who wear's those kind of shades?

That's a credit to Lloyd McClendon for having his team play well. His players play for him. He is one of the best young managers in this game.
I think he will drop off a bit in OBP but it is looking like a good deal. Espicially with how Reneria has performed, although you would think he would bounce back some.Originally Posted by CincyRedsFan30

Can I stab Joe Morgan in the face?
He's right, they didn't improve after the LoDuca trade...but they didn't decline much either. LoDuca had an amazing .189 BA in September (after an admittedly good August, but not that great), Mota's 6.35 ERA in September (see above), and Encarnancion's amazing .240 BA after July, not to mention getting a potentially great SP, a potential-laden 1B, and they save a lot of money (which could have been made to get, I dunno, Steve Finley who they got or Drew/Lowe this year).
