Today is a chalked up one full of deadlines to meet and things to learn. We all have our day to day routine and busy activities that either keep you awake or make you want to freak out like you are possessed by Jim Carrey's soul after an acid trip.

But we get to end this wonderful day with one of baseball's greatest delicacies. We are going to be able to tune in to the refreshing sound of when ball meets bat. There are 8 contestants once again competing in the annual Home Run Derby. All of which have showcased their talent of giving hundreds of fans a free souvenir. Each of these miscreated freaks of nature have the priviledge of giving out more of these keepsakes. But in addition to that, they will be competing for the ultimate prize as to become the homerun champion.

Last season, we as fans got to see the greatest feat in the history of the Home Run Derby. Bobby Abreu hit an astonishing 41 homers! This is a record that would be very hard to break. But with the talent they are throwing out this year, we have to wonder just how the impossible can become possible. Which one of these mighty men will win the crown? Which one of these powerhouses will threaten Abreu's contribution to the game?

Here are your contestants: (in parenthesis will show the votes accounted by S3F members)

Troy Glaus (2)
Miguel Tejada (2)
Jermaine Dye (1)
David Ortiz (8)
Miguel Cabrera (3)
David Wright (2)
Ryan Howard (15)
Lance Berkman (1)

Looks like the favorite is Ryan Howard. And if we had our way, Big Papi would go head to head against the young phenom. Or are we all way off and will the one vote for Berkman or Dye stand alone in victory? I guess we will see tonight. Let us all finish off our day and tune in to one of the greatest spectacles in all of sports. The 2006 Home Run Derby!
