Segui admits to use of HGH

    www.TSN.ca

NEW YORK (AP) - Former Montreal Expo and Toronto Blue Jay David Segui said he used HGH and was among the players mentioned by ex-teammate Jason Grimsley to federal investigators.

Segui added that he used the drug with a doctor's prescription because of a growth hormone deficiency.
Segui, who spent 15 years in the majors and retired in 2004, said on ESPN's Outside the Lines on Sunday that he continues to use HGH legally. He said he first started using the hormone after the deficiency was found when he went for blood work before surgery during his playing career.

The 39-year-old first baseman said Grimsley came to him this past off-season, seeking advice about HGH and how it might help him recover from surgery. Grimsley was waived by the Arizona Diamondbacks this month after acknowledging HGH use and accusing other players of its use in a statement to federal agents.

Segui played for Baltimore, the New York Mets, Montreal, Seattle, Toronto, Texas and Cleveland from 1990 to 2004, finishing with a .291 average and 139 homers. He and Grimsley were Orioles teammates in 2004.

The names of the other players accused by Grimsley have not yet been made public.

He didn't use it legally, because he did not get a medical exemption from the league for it (and probably would not have been granted one).

Nobody ever said that steroids alone can make someone an epic home run hitter, so stop pretending like they have.

counter-arguing a post equates to being on someone's dick?

Anyways, I won't continue this because it'd only serve to turn this into another Bonds thread and I don't feel like being taboo today.

Uh Oh, you just brought up Bonds! And you weren't counter arguing.

Segui was with the Orioles for four seasons, and was injured for most of them. Therefore, I can see why he would use hgh to help him recover from his wide array of injuries. Besides which, he had a doctors perscription, and the doctor was monitoring his doses. This isn't really a case of using it to enhance his performance, rather, a case where there is a valid reason due to his health.

Once again no mention of the Giants but somehow they always come up. I find it silly that the more we hear about this, the less likely it really helps and yes we all know HGH is designed to do. Just like weed, LEGALIZE IT

It's been mentioned in pretty much every Bonds thread out there how the arguments, on both sides, are overly repetitive to the point of being able to predict what is to be posted next and that's why we should avoid them.

So when I see those same repetitive arguments made in a non-Bonds thread from the pro-Bonds folk I am not naive enough to not realize what's being insinuated
