Jake Peavy is 8-8
Johan Santana is 9-7, but should easily by 13-7. He's got the 5th best ERA in the league(2.85), and the 7th most K's. Talk about your bullpen killing you.
Chris Young has a 1.72 ERA since returning from the DL....and he's 0-2
Matt Cain....enough said.
I know I am gonna get some grief here for this, but how about Roy Halladay for your example.
7 complete games with 182 IP (both leading the AL pack), an ERA of 2.72 that sits him in 3rd for the AL, 155 SO (2nd in AL), all make him look like a lock for the Cy Young right? 13 wins sits him near the top to boot.
But a 9 spot in the L column is kinda a sore spot. Think about the performances that he has had only to see them wasted on a poor performance from those behind him. He's had 5 L's were he has pitched 7 or more inning's.

The defense rests.
Matt Palmer: 7-1 5.0 ERA
He's been super blessed by Angel run support
Joel Hanahran just won game without being on the Nationals roster.
More evidence for Leo.
It was a suspended game from earlier in the season and Hanrahan was the pitcher of record at the time it got stopped, so it's not exactly the same thing.
Clayton Richard pitches 5 and 2/3 solid innings in his Padres debut giving up 1 earned run and leaves the game with a 1 run lead.
Greg Burke enters the game and promptly gives up a game-tying home run.
Padres regain the lead in the bottom of the inning.
Greg Burke is awarded the win.
Good job, Buzzie. How did that work out for you?Quote:
Though Nolan Ryan's strikeouts and no-hitters got him considerable media attention, he did not win over Angels general manager Buzzie Bavasi, who dismissed him as a flashy .500 pitcher (Ryan was 26–27 in the two years both were with the Angels). When Bavasi let Ryan leave after a 16–14 record in the 1979 season, Bavasi remarked he only needed to replace Ryan with two 8–7 pitchers, adding, "I think my plumber could do that."
Matt Cain pitches 8 IP, allows 0 ER, but gets a loss because of a 1 unearned run, and was out dueled by Gio Gonzalez 1-0.
Kevin Correia gives up 6 ERs through 6 innings and "earns" the win because the Mets gave up a gazillion runs in return.
This thread's description might as well be, "Whine about Padres pitchers 'getting screwed' in Losses, but rub it in to opponents when the aforementioned pitchers stumble into a Win." That's the feeling I get with the opening post, no less. Christ, almighty.
