    Dodgers Tim Wallach for manager

At triple-A Albuquerque, Tim Wallach also waits for his shot at big leagues - latimes.com

Screw Don Mattingly. Wallach should still be the Dodgers hitting coach to this day. Eddie Murray didn't do shit as his successor and the current middle-of-the-order hitters have regressed under Mattingly's tutelage.

    Re: Tim Wallach for manager

"Honestly, looking back at it now, I don't think I would've been prepared [to manage at the major league level] if I would've done it straight from being a hitting coach," he said.

From Ramona Shelburne's ESPNLA article on Tim Wallach. A polite little zing at Don Mattingly, perhaps?
    zing!

    Re: Tim Wallach for manager

Tim Wallach is on board Don Mattingly's staff but it's yet to be determined if he'll be the hitting coach or 3rd base coach. It makes sense Mattingly prefers to work closely with friend Larry Bowa as his bench coach rather than his erstwhile rival managerial candidate.

ESPNLA saying Wallach will either be the bench coach or 3rd base coach, but not the hitting coach. Whatever. The point is we have our interim manager when the team goes 1-10 to start the season.

    Re: Tim Wallach for manager

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Dodgers denied the Blue Jays permission to interview Tim Wallach for their managerial opening.
Sources tell Rosenthal that Wallach’s contract with the Dodgers only allows him to interview with certain clubs, and the Blue Jays are not one of them. He was recently permitted to interview with the Brewers, though. Should Wallach fail to find a managerial job, he will be a coach on Don Mattingly's staff next season.

I don't understand why Ned didn't also deny other teams from interviewing Logan White, unless Ned only cares about his own job security...guess I answered my own question.

    Re: Tim Wallach for manager

DodgersGM Per Tim Wallach's contract, he can't interview with any team that measures home run distance in meters (metres).

But seriously, the Jays were denied permission because of the eight teams with a managerial vacancy at the start of the offseason, the Jays weren't high enough on Wallach's list per the contract he signed with the Dodgers.

I understand for every Mike Scioscia out of AAA, there's a Bill Russell or in your case Dave Miley. Doesn't matter. Since the choice is between Wallach and Mattingly, only Wallach had managerial experience, thus he's the only logical choice.
