    Dodgers Dodgers Sign Ausmus

According to Ken Rosenthal, free agent Brad Ausmus has spurned the Padres to sign a one-year, $1 million deal with the Dodgers.
It's hard to blame Ausmus. He'll be on a better team and hardly have to do anything at all as Russell Martin's backup. For the Padres, he would have had to suit up twice a week and help teach Nick Hundley. The Dodgers can now go ahead and drop Danny Ardoin from the 40-man roster. It's incredible that they carried him as long as they did.
Not a bad backup for the Dodgers. He will be more useful than Mike Lieberthal.

Thank God he's not an Astro anymore.

The couple years in a row that I had to suffer with a 7/8/9 of Ausmus, Everett, pitcher were miserable.

The majority of those times, the pitcher was less of a sure-out than Ausmus and Everett.

    Good Riddance.

As if Humberto Quintero is any better as a hitter.

I would have preferred A.J. Ellis to start gaining major league at-bats, but he wasn't about to receive any playing time if Danny Ardoin wasn't, either.
