NOT!!! The Angels would not give up Kotch, period. How old is Tex? Kotch has youth over him.

Tex is only like 2-3 years older. Tex also has more power and is just as good if not better in the field. I love this deal for the Angels, it's a steal

And if they don't win it all and don't resign him, it's not really a steal now is it?

Well, we don't know if they'll resign him, or if Kotchman will ever develop into near the player Tex is. Kotch is nice, but not as good. It's a good risk.

I don't see how the Braves getting two damn good players for one player they were most likely going to lose anyway being a steal. The Nady/Marte deal was a steal, the Pierzynski for Liriano, Nathan and Bonzer was a steal. This one is good for both teams. Kotchman will adapt well to the NL I think. Seemed more like a NL guy in the first place. Braves get a good first baseman who is under control till 2011 and a future closer, Angels get another GG, power bat. Win, win if you ask me

Marek projects as a middle-of-the-rotation starter. I've seen him pitch a couple of times and he has a decent fastball and OK breaking stuff. He should be a good fit in Atlanta.

    Re: Teixeira to the Angels

If Tex signs an extension, it's a good deal. If he tells the Angels to make their bid in FA against NYY, Bos, etc... It is a horrible deal.

Actually he is being used as a reliever and is being viewed as the future closer for the Braves.
