K-Rod gets #61 tonight!
K-Rod gets #61 tonight!
He is setting a record that will be very difficult to achieve again. First, the player has to be on a very good team. Second, they have to have a lot of close games. Third, they have to be as good as K'Rod it to reach this mark.

Simply amazing!! 61 ****ing saves!!
Save #62 last night.
I'm going out on a limb and saying he blows 2-3 games in the playoffs.
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!
The 2074 MSL NL Gold Glove Recipient at Third Base.
Care to wager on that?
Blahblah blah.
Yep all 62 meaning saves His team has 99 wins and he saved 62 of them and they are going to the playoffs. Completely meaningless!!!
Thye basically had the division clinched 2-3 months ago, the 2nd half has been garbage time and stat padding time which is exactly what he has done.
They clinched it when the A's traded their team away. (July)
2003 Hybrid World Champion (115-47 reg season, 11-4 playoffs)
TBL: Anaheim Angels 2006-present (238-244 regular season, 1 division title)
MSL: St Louis Cardinals 2013-present (2734-2936 regular season, 5 division titles, 2 championships)
TSSL: Seattle Mariners 2006-2029, Pittsburgh Pirates 2030-present (209-277, 5 division titles w/SEA, 1 championship w/SEA)
They had the division clinched thanks in part to Krod's brilliant performance. Look when this thread started!! Padding stats Mariano is apparently the only one who can get one inning saves. Everyone else is just padding stats Or maybe they wanted home field advantage throughout the playoffs
You guys do realize this is a meaningless argument of opinion where no one is going to concede to the other, so it's pretty pointless to keep laughing/yelling at each other.
Let's just celebrate this crazy number. I'll admit, the majority of his saves came with 3 runs, but still, it's a save. It may be cause for a change of the rule (I think it should), but he's still a ridiculous closer. I'd take him in the top 3 in the league any day. He's a great, great pitcher
Hey I am all for a change of the rule and have said so forever but you're right, this is an amazing number. 62 of 100 wins were closed out by this man!! Remarkable
