    Rotation Just Took A Hit

Kelvim Escobar revealed Wednesday that he has a tear in his right shoulder that could require season-ending surgery.
Escobar ceased throwing after experiencing discomfort in his shoulder Sunday. "I'm concerned, I don't know what's going to happen, I don't even know if I'll be able to pitch again," Escobar said. "I'm still young. I'll be 32 in two weeks, but retirement is getting into my head, because it's hard to rehab. I want to be out there playing, and I've done everything I can do to be healthy." According to the Los Angeles Times, Escobar plans to see if two weeks off improve his shoulder before likely seeing a specialist to determine whether surgery is necessary.
If he is gone for the year the Angels rotation just got weaker and the Mariners chances just got even better. Lackey will miss April leaving Weaver and Garland to carry the staff. Escobar won 18 games last year. OUCH!!! Hopefully for the Angels sake he doesn't need surgery.

Escobar was already out of the equation until midseason. A season ender just means the team doesn't have to go through the growing pains of him getting the feel for live pitching again.

At least they did have hope he would be ready by the playoff push. Now they can't rely on that. They have got to go out and get someone now.

This is not good for the Angels. Everything was going good for a bit. Oh well, they will find a way.

this really opens the door for the other teams in the West to surprise a few people. It should be very interesting this year.

Interesting he's contemplating retirement. Rehab is so intense, i guess it just might not be worth it to him to go through all that work again. This is a huge hit to the Angels, however mofo is right, he was already out until midseason, so it's not anything they weren't prepared for. They might have a slow start, but once they get Lackey back they should be in good shape

OUCH...this is just an enormous blow for the Angels, but I hope he is fine and doesn't retire. Very talented pitcher and it's a shame to see this happen.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.
