LOS ANGELES -- Angels left fielder Garret Anderson left Saturday's game in the second inning after aggravating an injury in the area of his right hip flexor tendon chasing a first-inning fly ball.

Anderson was placed on the 15-day disabled list after the game. Reggie Willits, who took Anderson's place in the lineup and delivered a clutch two-run single keying the 3-0 victory over the Dodgers, will return to the lineup on a regular basis in left field. A roster move will be made to replace Anderson.

Casey Kotchman, the Angels' hot-hitting first baseman, was forced out of action later in the game when he suffered a concussion. He was taken to Centinela Hospital Medical Center in nearby Inglewood for further testing and observation.

The Angels are hoping it is not serious and they'll have Kotchman back shortly, manager Mike Scioscia said.

After doubling to left in the seventh inning, Kotchman was hit flush in the helmet on an attempted pickoff throw by catcher Russell Martin at second base.

Kotchman stayed down for several minutes before getting up. He was assisted from the field, replaced by Robb Quinlan.
Definitely not good news. Kotchman has been on a hot streak latley. The Angels will surely miss his bat in the lineup.
