    Royals Yankees @ Royals

    (3-3) vs. (4-2)

    4/8 Game 1: Phil Hughes (0-0, 3.00 ERA) vs. Brian Bannister (1-0, 0.00 ERA)

    4/9 Game 2: Ian Kennedy (0-1, 23.14 ERA) vs. Zack Greinke (1-0, 1.29 ERA)

    4/10 Game 3: Andy Pettitte (0-1, 5.40 ERA) vs. John Bale (0-1, 5.68 ERA)

I stated I would be supporting the Royals in 2008. I will try to watch each game as well. Lets go Royals for a sweep against the Yankees.

This should be an interesting test for the Royals. They have played well coming out of spring training. This series could tell how good they are.

Another good game from Bannister and the Royals bullpen. Bannister wasn't as sharp as in his first game but did a good job nonetheless. 1-3 hitters were a combined 6-12 with 2 RBI. Couldn't say that a lot last year. Royals win 5-2.

The Royals find a way to win a game where their starter isn't sharp. That is the making of a decent team.

Congrats on the Royals part on beating the Yankees but, I'm not really worried with this slow start. The Yankees start slow every year and then they pick it up. We'll pull it together and start making the win column look a lot better.

Hideo Nomo just shut the Yankees down for two innings. WTF?

I wouldn't say he "shut them down." They loaded the bases on him before he got out of the inning

Nomo got Matsui to fly out with the bases chucked in an incredible Japanese baseball matchup. I'm shocked he's made his way back to the big leagues, apparently he looked terrible in recent years.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

So much for Nomo "dominating" the Yankees. Back-to-back jacks by A-Rod and Posada. 6-1 Yanks. However, he does strike out Matsui in the round 2 of the all-Japan matchup.

I wasn't expecting a sweep but at least the Royals won at least 2 out of 3.

Classic A-Rod homering with nothing on the line.

He has clutch seasons in years that are odd, and stupid homer-when-nothing-is-on-the-line seasons in the even years. Guess what? It's 2008. Back to 2006 form. And yes, I have been saying this for a while. He constantly puts up good numbers when nothing matters, and then shits the bed in the clutch. Except for last year. Because it ended in a 7.

I was hoping for a sweep but getting two out of three was good for KC.
