Good deal, considering Fred McGriff once got $4 million to barely hit above the Mendoza line for a half season.

Uh, wouldn't Kent at first and Garciaparra at second make more sense?

It would, and that's probably what they'll go with.

I'm not sure they'll do that as the talks were about signing him to play 1B

Kent clearly has a bigger ego than Nomar.

I think once Izturis comes back, Nomar goes to LF, Kent to 1B and Izturis to 2B.

Kent can turn a DP pretty well from second and I imagine a lot better than Nomar. Best infield in baseball? I am going to say maybe offensively but not defensively. Dodgers have signed some good players but they have tofind where to put them and they still need a couple of SP's. Better than having Choi play fulltime.

The Phillies' infield of Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins, and Abe Nunez is better.

You mean the half of the Texas infield that plays at home?

The half that can play defense and isn't injury prone.
