Thread: Marquis Grissom DFNYY

    Giants Marquis Grissom DFNYY

    Giants released outfielder Marquis Grissom.
He departs to make room for Randy Winn. Grissom still might be able to hit lefties well enough to be of some use to the right team. He had a 933 OPS against them last year and a 1056 OPS in 2003

    Definitely going to the Yankees.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Grissom is cheap and would cost the Twins nothing. After hearing that Hunter is out for the year, the Twins need him a lot more. Grissom has some pop and drove in 90 last year. Plus the man has a ring and plenty of experience, something the Twins need to replace Hunter.

Yeah, but the Yankees will get him anyway.

Actually the Twins could claim him before the Yanks could.

Twins need a good bat, not a glove. Yankees.. need the opposite. Grissom makes more sense as a yankee in those regards.

Did you see who was in CF for the Twins last night? It was Lew Ford and he showed how badly they missed Hunter out in the field. Grissom could be both and it makes more sense that the Twins pick him up. Twins have the right to claim Grissom before the Yanks. Plus I would like someone out of the Twins org. rather than the Yanks in retunr for Grissom.

He was designated for assignment. He's going to the Yankees. Not a hard connection.

Actually, the Yankees haven't signed a DFA hitter yet...only 3 pitchers.

Defense is the least of the twins problems, aside from Mauer, no one is really hitting. He's a better fit in New York.

I disagree. The Twins need a guy who drove in 90 runs last year a lot more than the Yanks need a Cfer.
