    Jose Cruz designated for assignment..again

Red Sox designated outfielder Jose Cruz Jr. for assignment.
Maybe another trade is on the way. We assume it's either that or Cruz did something to upset management. He was 3-for-12 with a double since joining the Red Sox. It looks like we'll probably see a lot of Roberto Petagine at first base and Kevin Millar in right field until Trot Nixon returns. Cruz owners in AL-only leagues may want to grab Petagine instead.

And the Red Sox gave up live human beings to get Cruz in the first place.

Seems like forever ago he made a huge scene splash for the Mariners in one half of a season.

    So much for that:

Dodgers acquired outfielder Jose Cruz Jr. from the Red Sox for a player to be named.
Cruz is back in the NL West after just 10 days. He should see a fair amount of time in the outfield corners for the Dodgers. Jose Valentin may begin getting starts at third base in place of Oscar Robles. Cruz should have a little value in NL-only leagues.

With Jose Cruz constantly on the move, that player to be named later might as well be Jose Cruz.
