Chacon TRADED (not DFA) to Yanks

    http://oakland.athletics.mlb.com/NAS...=.jsp&c_id=mlb

The Rockies will get right-handed pitchers Ramon Ramirez and Eduardo Sierra, both of whom have been assigned to Double-A Tulsa.

Sierra will be missed. Ramirez sucks.

Looks like we have our starter for Saturday.

Chacon going back to being a starter. Could be a good move. Remember him a couple years ago being solid as a starter.

He was a starter this year, fool.

Ah. So he was. Hopefully he can return to his 03 form.

Last year he got 35 saves, not bad for him. Can't blame him for the high ERA in pitching hell, Coors field. He was solid as a reliever.

Well Chacon gets out of Colorado. Could be good for him. i guess if the Yanks were going to get Byrnes, they would have tried to make something happen along with this trade. So, that may be out of the window.

35 saves, and an ERA over 7. He sucked at home and on the road. That he got that many saves just shows how overrated the statistic is. Shawn Chacon is not a good pitcher.

They just can't expect a lot. He's had some good moments with the Rockies (wasn't he an allstar once?), but he might just end up like Pedro Astacio who had some success at Coors, and then left and fell off the map. John Thomson almost followed suit, but like most pitchers, he got a new life in Atlanta.
