So the moral for baseball players is if you're going to get busted for pot, you'd rather it be by a cop. Ahem, Tim Lincecum.

Tack on another prospect, Jake Odorizzi. Not to be confused with Odor eater.
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!

Wow, the NL Central may have just become the best division in baseball to watch, there are gonna be some fun games this season.
Minus Houston of course, they stink.
Seeing Heyman on twitter now saying the deal is done, pending physicals, and Selig needs to approve the 2 million payment.
Zach willing to waive the no-trade clause for the Brewers, but also said he'd go to....the Yankees?!?!?! But they weren't close on anything.
Jeffress may be out...PTBNL instead supposedly.
For Greinke, this really is so much better for him than going to the Yankees. The Brewers have a chance to compete and given his personality/mental stability, New York might have not been the best situation to jump into.

I totally broke this story (here).
I don't think KC got enough in this deal, I doubt any of the guys they got will be major contributors. Shows the Jays did pretty well when they traded Doc.
It certainly wasn't the more glamorous package. But we really don't know if Cain will be a quality CF or Carlos Gomez-lite. Escobar has shown nothing but being a really terrible major league hitter. I know the royals wanted a young SS, but they picked one that inspires no confidence.

Combined with the Marcum trade, do the Brewers have much left in the "AAA-AA" prospect bank?
Seems like they are going all in, making a big push.
I think this might end up looking like the Beltran trade, they went after specific positions needs over talent and ended up not getting great value.
I really don't know what you guys are crying about in saying the Royals didn't get enough in the trade. They got a young SS who is a fantastic defender and is only 23. Anyone who is going to give up on a 23 year old after one full year is not thinking rationally. Escobar showed he could hit the year before and his minor league numbers shows he can do much better than his rookie year. Cain showed a lot of promise last year and is also very young, 24 in fact. Cain will be the starting CFer for the Royals and should add a lot more speed to this offense. Jeffress definitely showed promise last year in his short time with the Brewers but if he can't lay off the pipe, it won't matter. From all reports, it seems Jeffress will have a good shot at winning the setup role this year. The Royals got two everyday starters and a setup guy and all under the age of 25. That's pretty damn good in my opinion considering Greinke was forcing the Royals hand and rejected a deal from Washington.
