The way the defense has been this month, a nice upgrade in that department would be welcomed.
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!
The 2074 MSL NL Gold Glove Recipient at Third Base.
If Lee is going to waive his no trade, it will be for this deal.

This would be a good deal for the Braves but is there any idea of what the Cubs would get back? Lee isn't exactly been the best we've ever seen him and hasn't been the healthiest either so I wouldn't think the Braves would have to give up that much considering they do still have Glaus.
I'd welcome it. Might as well save as much money as possible. Especially since Lee wouldn't have been back next year anyway.

LaRoche cleared waivers too and if I were the Braves, I'd rather have him.
Which LaRoche, King Andy or Prince Adam?
Prince Adam of course.
Pretty sure its a done deal now.
DLee to the Braves for 3 minor league pitchers..

Maybe the Braves swap LaRoche for Lee and then Zambrano has a new 1B to fight with in the dugout.

There is enough information for me to call this a done deal.
Braves Acquire Derrek Lee For Three Prospects: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com
Cubs get the "sleeper" of the Braves system.
The deal just makes sense. Glaus has been ice cold and Lee has been hot. Lee yet again started off slow and this obviously effected his trade value. Of course his injury concerns are a bit worrisome.

Don't see why the Braves had to give up three prospects to get Lee who is barely Type B status. Still think LaRoche would have been best for him. Bet Cox would agree too
Braves put Glaus on the 15 day DL today.
Derrek Lee from a few weeks ago when he turned down the trade to the Angels:
"When the trade was presented to me, I just felt the best thing for me and my family was to stay here," Lee said after the Cubs lost 8-1 to the Astros. "Jim and I had a great conversation about it. Jim's been great about the whole thing.I guess Derrek and his family don't like Chicago anymore.
"[Rejecting the trade] was a baseball process. There's a lot of thought that goes into it, not just that I have a home [nearly finished in Los Angeles]. I thought about it for a good 24 hours, and agonized over it. The bottom line is my family and I like Chicago. I like my teammates, and that's just the decision I made."
