Where does O Brien sign on this deal? If the reds got offered this legitimately they wouldnt/shouldnt think twice about it. I would do this deal and not hesitate but I would feel really bad for the Rangers for getting hosed.

How old is Estrada (28 yrs old)? How much does Furcal make compared to his production the past couple of years (5.6 mil, .283 obp)? Granted I dont know much about Lerew but theres no way Giants be dumb enough to trade Schmidt for what you offered them theyd want spects that arent already making a ton of money and not doing the job they are suppose to.

The Giants GM has already said the price for Schmidt is 3 top spects, (maybe Lerew) but the other two dont even come close to that.

Texas might be willing to take a chance on a guy who more than likely isn't a career 6-7 ERA guy, but maybe not as great as his allstar season with Milwaukee. If logged innings and had a 3-4 ERA, that would be really helpful, cause Cordero's arm might fall off otherwise.
