I'd love that...but we have Bubba 2.0 in Brett Gardner.

There will never be another Bubba.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Terrible deal for the Brewers!! The Brewers only get Cabrera back? The Yankees better eat all the money if that's all they are getting. The only way this works out is if the Brewers take that money and gets Sheets back or another worthy starter like Oliver Perez. Yankees get an upgrade at CF and it doesn't block anyone in the minors meaning Jackson. Still can't believe all the Brewers are getting is Cabrera.

The Mike Cameron trade is not done and may not get done.

The Yankees will need to have a change of heart for it to happen, one source familiar with the discussion said.

The Brewers are asking for a second player in addition to Melky Cabrera. The Yankees want the Brewers to pay a portion of Cameron's $10 million salary.

Milwaukee is not inclined to fulfill that request at a time when the Yankees are on the verge of paying over $200 million for pitchers CC Sabathia and A.J. Burnett.

The New York Post first reported that possibility of a Cameron-Cabrera swap on Nov. 6 from the GM Meetings and reported Thursday that the deal was "close."

Cameron could make the transition to New York easier for CC Sabathia — who the Yankees reached an agreement with Wednesday. Cameron played with the Mets from 2004-2005, so he knows the city. He quickly became Sabathia's pal in Milwaukee after the Brewers obtained him last July from the Indians.
Good for the Brewers If the Yankees expect the Brewers to eat salary, they will have to do better than a 4th OFer.

Ken Rosenthal says the potential deal hit a roadblock over the Yankees' desire to have Milwaukee pick up part of the tab on Cameron. Also, the Brewers want a second player after Cabrera. Tom Haudricourt says the Yankees tried to unload Kei Igawa on them.
No wonder the Brewers didn't want to do this deal!!

The Brewers have been asking about pitcher Kei Igawa, and the Yankees have been linked to third baseman Bill Hall. Both players have big contracts that their teams would like to shed. So perhaps a deal can be reached eventually.
I'm starting to reconsider my opinion on this deal based solely on this news. If we can unload Igawa on the Brewers, I'd much rather have Bill Hall with a big contract than useless Igawa.

    Re: Yankees Interested In Cameron

The Brewers and Yankees are trying to work out the finances to make Kei Igawa the third player in the proposed Mike Cameron-for-Melky Cabrera swap.
Igawa is owed $12 million over the next three years. He'd be a nice gamble for the Brewers if the Yankees would pick up about a third of that in a deal. Of course, Cameron for Cabrera would still be a significant and unnecessary downgrade.
What in the **** is Doug Melvin thinking?? Too much Miller High Life in this ****!

MIL is trying to clear payroll, considering that a lot of their players are going to be ARB eligible either this season or very soon.

Whether it's a good idea or not for MIL, I'm not sure.

If the Brewers were trying to clear payroll, why is Igawa even mentioned? Even with the Yankees picking up a third of his contract, it is a ridiculous move. Igawa is a AAA with a Major League contract.
