The difference in RF for Melky in 07 was .3 above the league average.

Tell me, what were Franceour and Beltran? The same or lower.

From someone who watches him every day - and keeping in mind I soured on his play a lot this season - it's absolutely not a stretch to say he's Gold Glove material. The man covers a ton of ground and has a great arm. Trust me on that one.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

I said he has a great arm because he does. He just plays in a league with better OFers which makes it very hard to believe he is even close to being a GGer. This year was a setback.

    Re: Yankees Interested In Cameron

The Brewers did in fact pick up Cameron's option so the Yankee will have to look elsewhere to find a CFer.

    Re: Yankees Interested In Cameron

The New York Post reports that "the Yankees New York Yankees have inquired about the availability of Mike Cameron and the Brewers are weighing whether to deal the center fielder."
Milwaukee recently picked up Cameron's $10 million option for 2009, but may still deal him and have reportedly "been asking around about Melky Cabrera." The newspaper speculates that the Yankees may offer up Cabrera, Wilson Betemit and "a pitcher" for Cameron.
Looks like this might not be dead after all.

    Re: Yankees Interested In Cameron

These talks are back on with C.C. signing with the Yankees and Cameron being his friend. Yankees feel Cameron can ease Sabathia's mind about playing in NY, something Sabathia wasn't eager to do. Yankees will most likely offer Melky Cabrera but will need to add something special for Cameron. Yankees need a CFer and Cameron is a great option for them having played in NY before.

    Re: Yankees Interested In Cameron

Las Vegas – Not long after the Brewers lost free agent lefty CC Sabathia to the Yankees on Wednesday, talks resumed on a trade that would send centerfielder Mike Cameron to New York for centerfielder Melky Cabrera.
That deal could be completed as early as today before teams depart the winter meetings at the Bellagio. I see the New York Daily News already is reporting the deal is done but one member of the Brewers traveling party told me late last night that talks were tabled until today.
But here’s the interesting part – the Yankees would like to expand the trade to include Brewers third baseman Bill Hall. The Brewers were giving serious consideration to expanding the deal if what they received in return for Hall made sense to them.
So, look for the Cameron for Cabrera deal to definitely come down but don't be stunned if the Yankees get the Brewers to include Hall as well in an expanded trade. New York apparently would like a veteran right-handed hitter who could back up third baseman Alex Rodriguez, shortstop Derek Jeter and second baseman Robinson Cano.
The Brewers originally had hoped to get the Yankees to include a young pitching prospect such as Ian Kennedy in a Cameron-Cabrera swap but New York does not want to do that.
Here’s the primary reason the Brewers are trading Cameron and would consider moving Hall as well – centerfield and third base are the only positions on the field where they could incorporate some desperately needed left-handed bats (Cabrera is a switch hitter). The payroll flexibility created by trading Cameron’s $10 million salary – not to mention the $15.2 million owed Hall over the next two seasons – wouldn’t hurt either.
Well.......it looks like this is all but wrapped up. **** my ****ing life. This is a stupid trade. Costs money and a guy we developed in our farm. I don't like how they're giving up on Melky. Especially not for Mike Cameron, who I despise. This is just a dumb move all around in my opinion
