Rumor D'Backs offer Tracy for Dunn

SI.com's Jon Heyman reports that the Diamondbacks have offered Chad Tracy to the Reds for Adam Dunn.
It's not a completely unfair offer, but it doesn't make any sense for a Reds team with Joey Votto at first and Edwin Encarnacion at third. The Reds would probably rather have Micah Owings. At least he could play left field, in theory.
Not sure how this makes sense for the Reds either. Either way, it looks like Dunn will spend another trade deadline going...nowhere.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Tracy has played the OF before but who knows. This doesn't sound plausible.

.... And the knowledgeable baseball fans in Cincinnati will rejoice in the streets, burn effigies in Dunn's honor and take comfort in knowing that their run producing savior might return yet again for next season.

Don't start the Dunn rally yet, apparently the Rays are in now.

He's their plan B for if they don't get Jason Bay

Bay is the better choice. He is right handed and under contract for next year.

No, he shouldn't. A four-year deal to re-up Dunn should be the only plan discussed for anyone here.

The Reds and Rays talked Wednesday night about a deal that would send Adam Dunn to Tampa Bay. According to a source with knowledge of the discussions, those talks haven't yet moved beyond the conversation stage. But that conversation is expected to resume Thursday morning. Clubs that have spoken with Tampa Bay believe the Rays don't want to rush into anything as long as Jason Bay remains an option. But they now have Dunn on their plate as an intriguing Plan B.

Your post came in one minute before mine.

(In reference to perf's post) No, he shouldn't. A four-year deal to re-up Dunn (re-up, ie, re-sign with the Reds) should be the only plan discussed for anyone here.
